Kano State Government in collaboration with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have commenced renovation of the dilapidated Dausara Primary Health Care Centre, in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano state.
The renovation followed a report by Kano Chronicle which exposed the terrible condition of the healthcare centre.
It was indicated in the report that the centre had suffered long-time neglect which rendered the facility inefficient.
The pitiable situation of the facility had made it imposible for the communities to benfit from the facility.
In a statement issued by Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), signed by its Coordinator, Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani, commended the Kano state government and UNICEF for renovating the fercility.
He said the move would save the ill-equipped healthcare centre.
“While we applaud the on-going initiative to save the lives of mothers and children in Dausara community, we also call on government and donor agencies to extend similar gesture to other healthcare facilites that need rehabilitation across the state.
