Kano State government has enjoined its ministries, departments, agencies and parastatals to adhere strictly to due process on procurement, award and execution of contracts.

Permanent Secretary of Kano State Due Process Bureau, Engineer Muhammad Adamu Musa, made the call during a sensitization visit to Kano State Roads Maintenance Agency (KARMA) and Kano State Urban Planning Development Authority (KNUPDA) respectively.

He said the advocacy visit to various MDAs was meant to ensure smooth operation of government affairs in the state.

Engineer Musa said the bureau embarked on the visit in order to sensitize civil servants on the transformation of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate of Due Process Bureau as approved by the state executive council recently.

He said: “This will help us inculcate probity and accountability in the minds of civil servants as well as curtail excesses in government expenditures. It will also help in ensuring transparency and accountability in execution of projects.”

In their separate remarks, the Managing Directors of KARMA and KNUPDA, Engineer Aminu Aliyu Wudil and Architect Bashir Mudi, reaffirmed their commitments toward cooperating with the bureau to achieve the desired objectives of transparency and accountability in governance.
