Kano State government has reaffirmed its determination to complete all abandoned projects at the Main Campus of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YUMSUK) to accommodate more students.
The state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi, made the disclosure when he paid an inspection visit on the continuation of construction of the Faculty of Science at the main campus of the university.
The commissioner expressed delight with the progress of work assuring of timely completion of the project.
He promised that the state government would also soon complete the construction of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
The vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, explained that when the projects are completed, the institution would admit more students, especially within its catchment area, and meet the demand for accommodating more students following the new policy of the state government on free and compulsory education.
