Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA) of Government College, Keffi, class 91 set has donated 50 double bunks and 100 pieces of mattresses to their alma mater.
The chairman of the project committee, Mr. Gyangson Samson-Choji, told Daily Trust on Monday that the presentation of the items was to appreciate what they gained from the school about 36 years ago with the aim of emulating their predecessors and to leave a legacy to those behind them.
While recognizing the pace set by the former president, late Umaru Musa Yar’adua, in renovating the school, however, he condemned the burning and destruction of houses some years back by students and urged them to embrace dialogue in all ramifications as a way of addressing any dispute.
He also commended other sets for their efforts in renovation works as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for renovating the entire school to give it a new look.
“Today, set 91 is presenting a little gift and as such, you are expected to see it as a means of unity, love, caring and tolerance which they have for the school.
“Though there were lurches and arguments amongst us during our days, but Hearts of Oak we stand united till date without differences.”
He urged the school authority to ensure that the items donated to the students were distributed without any form of discrepancies, revealing that the 91 set also renovated the school library, staff room and purchased some textbooks in 2014.
Earlier, the principal of the college, Mr. Audi Idris-Oyimege, applauded the 91 set for what he described as a great effort that would address the infrastructural development of the school.
He called on Nasarawa State governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, to come to their aid, saying the school lacks infrastructural development, particularly the college health facilities among others.
