The credit scheme, according to Governor Idris Wada, would be launched in October and disbursed to farmers in the state.
Governor Wada assured that agricultural development will continue to be accorded priority under his administration, saying that Kogi State is blessed with arable land and abundant natural resources that could make his agricultural transformation agenda realisable.
He said the agric credit scheme was aimed at encouraging farmers to embark on various agricultural activities as agric is the mainstay of the state’s economy.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the bank, Dr Mohammed Turaki, said his bank would provide N1 billion of the N2 billion while the state will provide a counterpart contribution of N1 billion.
