The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Bethrand C. Onuoha, has said the force would deal decisively with troublemakers before and during the governorship election slated for November 11 in the state.
A statement by the spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, SP Williams Ovye Ayah, quoted the commissioner as saying the command would not tolerate any form of violence by political actors in the ongoing campaigns.
He disclosed that the command was working in synergy with other security agencies on election security management and would not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone caught disrupting the electoral process.
The CP said the command is determined to provide a level-playing ground for all political parties as they embark on campaigns, rallies, and procession, among others, ahead of the polls.

He also condemned an attack on a police officer during a political clash at Idah, which he said was trending in a video in a pool of blood, saying the command has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of CID to commence investigation into the incident.
The CP reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to continue to engage critical stakeholders in election security management to ensure a secure environment for the election.
