The Ohimegye of Igu-Kotonkarfe kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alhaji Abdulrazak Sani Isa Koto, has laid the foundation stone of a 3,200 worship capacity for the proposed redevelopment of Koton karfi Central Mosque (Masjid) of Igu Kingdom, in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Speaking after he performed the ground breaking for the construction of the central mosque, the monarch said the project was conceived out of Muslim Umamah’s inherent desire to construct a more beffitting mosque for the community of Koton-Karfe in the chiefdom.
He said as a unifying factor, “we have never had a beautiful mosque in Kotonkarfe, and so I pray that this one would be the mosque that will redefine us.”
He, therefore, advised Muslims to ensure they send their children to school to acquire knowledge, saying it would help to reduce illiteracy, poverty and other social vices in the society.
