Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Engr. Mohammed Haruna, said that the Mou is a colloboration between the two parties on mutually identified areas of capacity building and technology transfer.
According to Engr Haruna, the project will not only play a crucial role in the transforming the state but is also vital for the transformation agenda of the government.
He said, “We have agreed to provide technical support and capacity building which will lead up to the raising of a critical mass of technicians and engineers in Kogi state. We will use our solar panel and modus to complement your drive of rural electrification and water supply.”
The NASENI EVC highlighted that the Transformer Assembly Plant, which will be sited in one of its institutes, the Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI) Okene, is vital for the transformation of the state.
In his response, the Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada, said the state is currently battling poor power supply, and the assembly plant is a welcome development. He expressed the state’s willingness to collaborate with the agency, even as he called for switch assessment and implementation of the MoU.
