THe Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has pledged his administration’s support to any cultural festival seeking to unite ‘Kogites’ and improve the state’s economic advancement.

A statement made available to Daily Trust said the governor made the pledge recently at Luguard House, Lokoja when he received the executive foundation members of Ohueje Ohinoyi, a cultural body from Kogi Central district who were on a courtesy visit.

Gov. Bello, while speaking to the group who had told him of their proposed week-long cultural festival, described the project as good and capable of fostering unity among the people of Kogi central district,

According to the release, he said the endorsement by the paramount ruler of Kogi Central, Alh. Ado Ibrahim underscores the pivotal role the cultural festival could play in fostering unity and improving cultural rating of the region.

The governor said the hall of fame exhibition proposed by members as integral part of the festival could change the orientation of lots of people, especially the restive youths, to begin to think and act positively.

The Coordinator/ Chairman of the group, Mallam Sheidu Tijani, has earlier said the festival was designed to cement the fractured unity of Kogi Central zone as well as enhance economic potential of Ebira district using its rich culture as veritable platform.

Secretary of the group, Mr. Onuvaye Solomon said the group appreciated the magnanimity of the governor’s wife, Her Excellency , Hajiya Rashidat Bello for her interest and  commitment towards a successful hosting of the event.
