KOGI: Population commission seeks collaboration on birth registration

The National Population Commission (NPC) in Kogi State has called on non-governmental organisations and religious bodies to collaborate with it on advocacy to improve child birth registration.

The Director of the Commission, Mr Ojo Abiodun Titus who made the appeal in Lokoja on the sidelines of the 2017 World Population Day, said many people especially in hard to reach areas were yet to have their children registered.

He said the commission had been utilising the Maternal Newborn Child Health Week (MNCHW) usually organised by the Ministry of Health to register children and sensitise mothers on family planning and child spacing.
