Texaco Outer Shelf Limited (TENOS), a Chevron company and her partner on the OML 132, the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) an NNPC subsidiary, have donated a fully functional hybrid library to Government Science Secondary School, Dekina, Kogi State.
The construction of the facility which was funded by TENOS and NAPIMS comes equipped with computers, books and bookshelves, reading tables, chairs, internet connection and borehole as well as generator to power the facility.
At a symbolic handover of the library to the state government in Abuja Mr. Umaru Ribadu, a Chevron director said despite the fact that OML 132 is located offshore Nigeria, TENOS and its partner’s investment area span the length and breadth of Nigeria in line with the Deep Offshore Community Affairs Group’s (DOCAG) principles.
The Group General Manager NAPIMS Dafe Sajebor, represented by Ahmed Laminu, Manager Public Affair Division said investment in library projects would help address the dearth of skilled manpower in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
