The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP winner of the Saturday’s National Assembly election for Kogi West Senatorial District held in the state.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof Emmanuel Bala, who declared the results, announced that Senator Dino Melaye polled a total of 85, 395 votes to defeat his main challenger, Smart Adeyemi of the APC who scored 66, 902 votes.
Kogi West Senatorial District which comprises seven LGAs namely Lokoja, Kogi/Koton-Karfe, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West saw Dino winning six LGAs out of 7.
