The Secretary made this known Thursday at the first ever Korea Love Day Celebration in Abuja, organised by the Korean Culture Club, a conglomerate of the Korean Culture Clubs in FCT secondary schools under the supervision of the the Korean Culture Centre, Abuja.
Mal. Usman commended the efforts of KOICA in fostering relations between Nigeria and Korea and praised the Korea Culture Centre for their robust cultural diplomacy that has resulted in stronger ties between the two countries as well as their effort to boost education in the country.
He praised the centre for awarding facilitating the scholarship programme that has seen four students from FCT secondary schools studying in Korea, saying such an act has taken a huge burden off the parents of these students.
Also speaking at the event, the director of the Korean Culture Centre, Abuja, Mr. Kwon Yong Ik, emphasised that the they would not relent in their effort to build a cultural bridge between Nigeria and the Asian country through harnessing and encouraging local talents as well as promoting cultural exchange.
He said the centre is running language classes for those interested in learning Korean, highlighting his agency’s effort to promote dance and arts and craft competitions, sayingwww they are planning big for 2015.
