“South Korea and Nigeria have had diplomatic ties for 30y years and we have reason to celebrate this with the opening of the Korean Cultural Centre. Forty Korean performers will be here to perform at the Centre and at Sheraton on the 25th. Twenty Nigerian artists from the National Troupe will join them in a joint performance.”

Highlighting other collaborative events, Mr. Sun said, “From May 27th to June 12th we will have an art exhibition/competition. Also the National Gallery of Art (NGA) will be exhibiting in South Korea with support from the Centre.”

The Cultural Attaché also said that In September this yaer, a team of Korean artistes will be taking part in the Nigeria at 50 celebrations; while the Federal Capital Territory troupe will perform in South Korea in October, adding that Korean taekwondo team is already in country to train Nigerian’s team to the 2012 Olympics.

He said that there are future plans to open centres in Egypt and South Africa and that such collaborations will be extended to the private sector.
