Sierra Leonean President, Bai Koroma has urged his would-be successor to strengthen bilateral relations with Nigeria.

Koroma said his country has resolved to properly align “our interest with that of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria.”

“I want my successor to improve on our records. I want incoming administration to strengthen the relationship between our two countries,” he said while unveiling the presidential candidate of his party, Dr Samura Kamara.

“Dr Kamara has all what it takes to transform Nigeria-Sierra Leone relationship to a deeper strategic level”, he added.

The president described Nigeria as a pillar of support for Sierra Leone and his presidency both before and after his assumption of office.

“We owe a lot to Nigeria and I am here to sincerely express my appreciation. When we started, Nigeria is with us, granting all the needed support.”
