Residents of Kpaduma, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), have appealed to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to consider integrating them instead of resettling them elsewhere.
The residents, headed by Bala Iyah, also urged the government to stop allotting plots in the community until the suit already in the court is decided.
Iyah said there is a court order restraining development control or anybody from tampering with land and houses in the communities.
 “If the court passes its judgment and we do not have the right to stay here again, we will leave immediately,” he said.
He said government should consider integrating the residents rather than resettling them elsewhere as most of them are fond of their homes and heritage.
Iyah said residents now live in fear in their ancestral land, “due to authority of development control, whose staff have been terrorising us on daily basis with armed military personnel.”
One of the residents, Edward Ayuba, whose duplex was among buildings demolished during an exercise on Wednesday 22 June, said the residents are disturbed by the activities of the FCDA officials.
He appealed to the FCT Administration to heed to them and also instruct officers of development control to desist from demolition houses in the community.
