Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner have split after 22 years of marriage, they announced via ‘E! News’.
“We are living separately and we are much happier this way,” they said in a statement. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.”
Rumours of a split have been circling the pair for months, with the Kardashian matriarch’s sister confirming the separation just last week.
According to TMZ, Bruce has been living in Malibu while Kris has maintained residence with her daughters Kendall and Kylie in Calabasas.
The reality power couple may have separated, but their split won’t stymie production of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, a source said.
And Olympic gold medalist Bruce insisted to ‘People’ that he’s not on track for a divorce.
“I’m doing great,” the 1976 Decathlon winner, 63, told ‘People’. “Kris is happy, I’m happy. Nobody is filing for divorce.”
A source close to Kris said that both spouses “are in the midst of filming (their reality show) now,” and production “is not delayed.”
The source said their new separate living arrangements “will be addressed” as a plot line in season nine.
“Kris has her own place and I have my own place. There’s no animosity. Everything is good,” Bruce told ‘People’.
He even scoffed at the suggestion he might start dating after 22 years of marriage.
“No!” he said with a laugh. “We’re not going there. I have my family, I have my kids. All my time is filled.”
Bruce was all smiles Tuesday as a camera crew filmed him on a golf course with daughters Kendall, 17, and Kylie, 16, in the wake of the separation announcement.
Kris, 57, was photographed earlier this week without her wedding ring as she moved boxes outside a storage facility near her Hidden Hills, California mansion, but the News source close to the famous momager said the missing jewelry wasn’t a meaningful sign.
“She just doesn’t always wear her ring,” the source said, explaining it’s “a huge diamond” that isn’t always practical.
The Jenners confirmed they no longer share a bedroom in a joint statement Tuesday.
“We are living separately, and we are much happier this way,” the pair told ‘E! News’.
“But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority,” they said.
A source on their reality show told People they continue to speak on a daily basis.
“It’s just one of those things where they were happier with a little space between them than being together,” the source said. “There was no smoking gun or straw that broke the camel’s back. Over the past few months they were just moving towards this and finally decided to acknowledge it.”
