The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, Professor Mohammed Sanni Abdulkadir, has been elected Secretary General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU).
In a statement, the spokesman of the university, Joshua Edogbo, said Prof. Abdulkadir was unanimously elected by all the heads of universities in the West African Sub-Region during the seventh conference and ninth general meeting of the association held recently at the Univerisite d’Abomey-Calavi (UAC), Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Edogho noted that the VC thanked his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him by the election, assuring them that the trust would not be betrayed.
He said, “A cross section of the university’s community, while reacting to the development, expressed delight at the election of their VC as the Secretary General of AWAU, describing it as a great honour to KSU.
“Both staff and students of the university have assured Prof. Abdulkadir of their support to ensure that his tenure a huge success.”
