The week long activity commenced on Monday, 1st and was rounded up on Sunday, 7th August, 2011. It started with series of musical renditions as well as messages from the word of God.

The Reverend-in-Charge of the church, J. P. Jakawa admonished youths and the congregation in general to remain resolute in pursuit of spiritual holiness and be steadfast in their quest to make heaven where they are sure of resting with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Similarly, peaking on the theme of the program, “Light and salt of the world”, the speaker, Mr Gideon Shipi called on parents to be the true salt of the world b y teaching their children the true path to Christian life.

Shipi expressed, “As parents, it is our utmost responsibility to guide our children and teach them the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ. Many of us parents have allowed the quest for accumulation of material wealth to tamper with our real prerogative and responsibilities in respect of children upbringing.”

He bemoaned the manner most Christian youths and children indulge in indecent dressing and other forms of immoral behaviour.

“Let us as parent s take up the challenge and responsibility to see that our children are properly trained in the ways of the Lord. If we do that God’s given assignment diligently, His blessings shall follow us and the children He has given us to care for,” the preacher maintained.

In his remark, the former Youth Leader of the church, Mr Nanpon Dokur said the youth fellowship is a source of inspiration to all youths in the church.

He thus urged non-members to join the fellowship and also find time to bring useful and God-inspired ideas and suggestions to the group.

He said, “We hope to see a large number of youths in this church joining us to build an army for Christ.”

According to him, the group meets on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Mr Daniel Dajang who took over as Youth Leader also challenge all the church members who are 45 years and below to make sure they join the group so as to serve God when they are still strong, as any delay could be unappealing in the eyes of the Lord.
