In July 2021, the federal government approved the creation of four universities – Federal University of Health Sciences Azare, Bauchi State; Federal University of Health Sciences Ila Orangun, Osun State; Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, Akwa-Ibom State and Federal University of Technology, Babura Jigawa State.
The creation of the above named universities didn’t come as surprise due to how the world has turned focus on sciences and technology. This university will provide employment opportunities to our teeming youths of Jigawa and other parts of the country. In terms of business, Babura and other neighbouring local governments in Jigawa, as well as Katsina State and Niger Republic, will benefit immensely.

I particularly welcome the appointments of Prof. Sabo Ibrahim B/Kudu, Jigawa State as pioneer Vice-Chancellor, and Fatima Binta Muhammad (mni) as Registrar.
Prof. Sabo Ibrahim holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Fatima Binta Muhammad (mni) was born in Sokoto State. She is a consummate administrator with an extensive experience in administration, policy formulation and implementation. She is a very passionate leader and humanitarian who volunteers in several corporate social responsibilities.
Therefore, I have no doubt about the appointments of Prof. Sabo Ibrahim and Fatima Binta Muhammad (mni) as very right and together they will move Federal University of Technology Babura to greater heights.
