Since the advent of the current security challenges in the country, all State Commands have introduced different measures aimed at securing citizens and their property. These measures necessary and indispensable as they are, have nevertheless caused untold hardship to the citizenry. On the contrary, we in Kebbi State have no cause to complain against the drastic and stringent security measures because, the security operatives are not enforcing the measures to molest, intimidate or harass law abiding citizens. In particular, we are very much impressed and appreciative over the way and manner the police conducted themselves during the last Friday Juma’at prayers, the Eid and the Sunday Church service. During all these religious gatherings, the police and other security operatives have conducted themselves well to the admiration of all citizens.

They were not only helpful but also friendly and exceptionally diplomatic. For this reason, one can not remember the most organised, secure and hitch-free Sallah celebrations in living memory. For this reason, we are optimistic that with good leadership of security services, support and co-operation of all concerned, we can have excellent police force we truly deserve.

It is, therefore, our considered opinion that despite and in spite of the complaints and outright condemnations trailing the conduct of security operatives from across the nation, there is glimmer of hope from the professional disposition of security operatives in Kebbi State.

Thus, as much as we are quick to condemn the condemnable, we should also muster equal courage to commend the commendable any time we see one. It is against this background that we would like to commend the Kebbi State Police Command, State Security Service, Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safely Corps and their indefatigable leaderships for is job well done.
