The establishment of an FM station by the management of the Usmanu Danfodio University (UDU), Sokoto, is a welcome development.
This is because an institution of high learning must be able to provide its students with information and valuable programmes that will promote peaceful coexistence.
It is hoped that the FM will come out with programmes in entrepreneurship in order to avail the students with information on how to set up their own businesses.
There is also the need for a programme on the dangers of drug abuse and consumption of dangerous substances.
I hope other universities that are yet to establish a radio station in their campuses will do so.
