Kuje 2018 budget shall focus on priority areas – Council boss

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, has said that the council’s 2018 budget shall focus on priority areas of water, rural road construction and youth empowerment.

Speaking while addressing newsmen on Friday in his office, Galadima said the 2018 budget which was tagged  ‘budget of consolidation and greater efficiency’ would go a long way in transforming  lives.

He said he led other members of the council management committee on a three-day retreat in Kaduna State, where he emphasized the need for the budget process and implementation be adhered to.

He said the 2018 budget focused on medium term development framework which he said included, provision of potable drinking water, rural road construction and rehabilitation and youth empowerment among others.

“And at the end of that three days retreat season, I emphatically let the participants to understand that, the 2018 budget is realistic, sustainable and objective as it will determine the dividends of democracy to the electorate,” he said. 

The council chairman further said he was able to use the opportunity of the retreat to express his displeasure over attitude of some staff to work, which he said it was not encouraging.

He therefore called on head of administration of the council, NULGE chairman on the need to advise their members to be more committed and punctual to work.
