The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, FCT, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, has assured residents of the council of adequate security for the peaceful conduct of direct chairmanship primary election scheduled to hold, October 25, 2018 across the six area councils.
Galadima, stated this when he addressed newsmen after a closed door security meeting which had traditional rulers and representatives of security agencies in attendance in his office on Friday.
He said security personnel would be deployed across all the 10 electoral wards and polling units to ensure the security of lives and property during and after the exercise.
“We call on the residents not to panic as adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth conduct of the primary election,” he said.
The chairman said security agencies had been instructed to arrest anyone found breaking the law during the party’s chairmanship and councillorship primaries in the area.
He stressed the need for the cooperation of voters in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the exercise and urged them not to allow themselves be used as agents of electoral violence.
