The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, has described grassroots sports development as the bedrock for nation building.
Sabo made the assertion when he received the championship trophy from the boys and girls teams that represented Kuje at the just concluded FCT under-12 handball championship at the council’s secretariat, yesterday.
He said in this age, if the boys and girls are properly nurtured, the teams would in the near future not only fly the flag of the area council but the nation at large.
He promised that his administration would do everything in its power to provide a conducive atmosphere for training.
Also speaking, the Director, Administration, of the council, Mr. Daniel Ayuba, congratulated the teams for their victory, saying they had made Kuje proud and urged them to remain focused as it would help them broaden their horizon.
