He said instead every delegate would be given a pay slip containing breakdown of his monetised allowances.
On Tuesday Kutigi announced that the delegates’ allowances would be made public yesterday. He was responding to a request by a delegate from Sokoto, Professor Aisha Madawaki, who observed that the media is awashed with stories of how much delegates receive as allowance.
“Mr Chairman, there are various reports in the media suggesting that delegates are paid N12 million, some said N10 million, others said N4 million per month and so on,” she said.
Kutigi explained that the Assistant Secretary on Finance and Administration, Professor Mahmood Yakubu was not around. He said Yakubu, who is in charge of finances was not on seat, but he would make the announcement on Wednesday.
But yesterday Kutigi said it was against civil service rule to make public the monetized allowances of the delegates.
