Former Kano State governor and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed reports that he has submitted a letter of intent to join another political party.
In a post on his Facebook page, Kwankwaso described the claims as false, urging the public to disregard them.
“We have been alerted to some online statements suggesting that we have submitted a letter of intent to join a political party in the country.
“We would like to clarify that we have not made any such submission to any party.

“The public is therefore advised to stay informed of any further information regarding our matter through the established official channels,” he said.
Kwankwaso’s clarification comes amid speculations over possible political realignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Daily Trust reported that strong indications emerged lately that former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is in talks with the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on plans to join the ruling party.
Sources within the APC in Kano, said Kwankwaso had written to the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja informing the party of his intention to join the party.
But this could not be independently verified by the Daily Trust as of press time.
A source at the APC secretariat in Abuja said Kwankwaso and the APC national chairman have been holding talks in respect of the former’s expected defection and that plans have reached advanced stage.
