The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has visited the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, at his Abuja residence.
Our correspondent learned that Obi visited Kwankwaso shortly after completing his screening at about 10:00 pm on Tuesday.
The NDC screening committee, led by former Ebonyi governor Sam Egwu, cleared Obi in Abuja earlier that day.
Kwankwaso is expected to be Obi’s running mate for the 2027 election.
Daily Trust had reported that Peter Obi emerged as the sole presidential candidate of the party, as he was the only one who purchased the presidential form before sales closed on Monday.
Kwankwaso confirmed the visit via a statement posted on his official X handle on Wednesday.
He said, “Last night, I received a courtesy visit from my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, shortly after his successful screening as the presidential aspirant of our party, the NDC. The future is bright and full of promise.”
