Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Tuesday advised members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to avoid visiting “dangerous places” while serving in the state. 

AbdulRazaq gave the advice at the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 for the corps members held at the NYSC orientation camp in Edu LGA of the state. 

Represented by his Senior Adviser and Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, the governor assured them of their security and general welfare during their service year in the state. 

“I enjoined you to be security conscious at all times. In particular, I advise you to avoid risky engagements such as staying out late at night, attending night parties, visiting dangerous places, and accepting car rides from strangers,” he said.

Also, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has warned members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state against truancy at places of primary assignment. 

He said any act of misconduct would not be tolerated in the state.

Diri, who was represented by his assistant on NYSC Matters, Mr Wisdom Poyeri, gave the warning at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B” Stream I orientation course held at the NYSC camp in Boro, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA of Bayelsa State. 

He assured the corps members of their adequate security and welfare during the service year.
