Kwara Hotels management owe workers N300m

Over 180 employees of  Kwara Hotels Limited in llorin, Kwara State  capital are being owe about N300m and five months salary arrears by the  former consultant managing the hotels.

The Chairman of the Kwara Hotels Workers Union, Mr Mohammed Ochenika  disclosed this in llorin on Wednesday while speaking with our correspondent during the taking over of the management of the  hotels by Harmony holdings Limited.

The chairman who said there was nothing wrong in the taking over arrangement by the Harmony Holdings Limited called for the payment of the owed salary arrears.

He lamented that the former consultant did not inform the workers of the taking over by the new management.
Ochenika appealed to the state governor to intervene on how their salary and entitlements would be paid.
The Head Corporate Affairs of the Harmony Holding limited, Kayode Aremu,  said harmony holding took over the  hotels in a bid to ensure profitability and elevate the status of the hotels in the hospitality industry in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that the state House of Assembly at its plenary on Tuesday directed its joint committees on finance, public accounts and public petition to investigate issue of unpaid salaries to Kwara Hotels workers.
