Under the scheme, initiated by the NGO, pregnant women in the state are to enjoy qualitative maternal care while their rights and dignity as women are to be protected.
The pilot scheme of the project which was among the recommendation of the national council of health is to commence with Ilorin west local government area of the state.
The pact was sealed yesterday at a meeting by Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Abdul Kayode Issa and representatives of the group led by its National Coordinator, Tonte Ibraye in Ilorin.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the commissioner noted that the scheme would ensure that women get enhanced maternal care and put an end to abuses against their rights.
He described the scheme as a “re-orientation programme” for health personnel on the need to always abide by the code of conduct and ethics of their different professions.
