The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced a date for the National U-18 and U-21 Handball Championship 2021 which is slated to be held in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Secretary general of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Alhaji Maigidansanma Mohammed said in a statement that the National cadet Championships will be held from March 25 – April 2, 2021 at the newly renovated handball courts in Ilorin.

While thanking the Kwara State government led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for their magnanimous decision to host the Championship, he also revealed that the HFN Technical Team will visit Ilorin for inspection of the facilities from February 24-26, 2021.

Meanwhile, the National U-18 Male Handball Team are preparing earnestly ahead of the 16th Male Africa Youth Championship holding from March 16-21, 2021 in Agadir, Morocco.

Twenty-five invited players are presently in close camping since February 7, 2021 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment in Abuja under the tutelage of experienced coaches, Emeka Joseph and Sabo Musa Oji.

Some of the boys were discovered in previous National under age Championships organised by the Handball Federation of Nigeria.

The National Cadet Male Handball team won bronze at the 14th edition of the youth continental Championship organised by the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB) held in Marrakech, Morocco in 2018.
