Former players and officials of Kwara United have given Kwara United Football Club one week ultimatum to clear N196m allegedly owed them as sign-on fee.
They claimed the money was part of the outstanding sign-on fee from the 2014/2015 football season.
The development is coming 24 hours after the General Manager of the, Bashir Badawiy, on Monday, announced the sack of 22 players ahead of the upcoming season.
The aggrieved players and officials, through their counsel, Exact Legal Associates, said they have made numerous attempts to resolve the issue amicably.

They said the club’s previous payment of N5 million, representing a mere 2.4% of the total amount owed, is not enough and has caused significant financial hardship for the former players and officials.
The group has threatened to escalate the matter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and FIFA if the outstanding payment is not made within the stipulated period.
Two former team captains, Onigbari Akeem and Sherif Jimoh, appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intervene and resolve the crisis.
Reacting to the development, club chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, said the management is aware of the unpaid entitlements adding that the matter has been taken up with relevant stakeholders.
He explained that the unpaid sign-on fees predates the current management of the club.
“That, regardless, club management is a continuum and we are looking towards solving the problem”, he said.
