Kwara workers jubilate over payment of new wage

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq

Civil servants in Kwara State were full of excitement and praises on Monday following the full implementation of the new minimum wage by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

The workers had accused the Governor of not being serious over the matter which resulted to strike last year.

But many of the workers who received their alerts of January salary on Monday applauded the Governor for the fulfillment of his promise to implement the consequential adjustment component of the minimum wage.

It was observed that between N10,000 to N15,000 were added to the salaries of workers across various categories depending on their levels.

Both local government and state workers were said to have benefitted.

Speaking on the development, the State NLC chairman, Comrade Isa Ore confirmed the receipt of the new wage by the local government and state workers.
