Kwaringa sure of Gombe United’s continental ticket

Gombe United last Wednesday suffered a 2-0 in the hands of Lobi Stars at the Late Emmanuel Akume Atongo stadium Katsina-ala but the highly experienced captain said all hope is not lost.
Speaking to Shot! the captain said only one defeat is not enough to stop his team’s continental ambition.
He said even against Lobi Stars, his side gave a good account of itself but the referee who handled the match did not officiate fairly saying two questionable red cards were given against his side.
Kwaringa who is one of the longest serving members of Gombe United said the team is focused on winning a continental ticket to justify the unflinching support from Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo and the people of Gombe State.
He explained that his team is presently one of the most motivated clubs in the country and the only way to show gratitude is to play continental football next season.
“Although we lost our match away to Lobi Stars of Makurdi, we are not discouraged. Our goal is to play continental football next season and by the special grace of God, we shall realise our ambition.
“We played well against Lobi Stars but the fact is that at this stage of the league, it is difficult to get fair officiating when you are playing an away game. The referee sent off our central defender and a striker under questionable circumstances.
“We are still focused on picking one of the continental tickets. We have enjoyed so much support from our sports loving governor and the only way we can reciprocate his gesture is to pick a continental ticket”, he said.
Kwaringa maintained that Gombe is not going to drop any point at home in the remaining matches as they target one away win or draw to achieve their set goal.
