The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) will decide on its planned indefinite strike today.
This is coming on the heels of the expiration of an ultimatum given to the federal government to resolve all issues surrounding the removal of petrol subsidy.
The organised labour, during its National Executive Council meeting on August 31, had threatened an indefinite strike within 21 days if its demands were not met.
The national leadership of the NLC, yesterday in a fresh notice signed by its General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, invited its affiliates and the state chapters to “the emergency National Executive Council virtual meeting” scheduled for 12.00noon today.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, has again appealed to the organised labour not to paralyse economy with its proposed indefinite strike.

The spokesman of the ministry, Olajide Oshundun, told Daily Trust that the minister had delivered on the first promise which was the release of the detained members of executive of National Union of Road Transport Workers.
He said Lalong would also work and deliver on other demands.
He said the government would soon make a pronouncement on the new wage award for workers.
