Minister of Labour and Productivity Emeka Wogu who spoke during the weekend at a meeting held in Abuja with chairmen of the States Coordination and Implementation Committee(SCIC) on the exit strategy for the beneficiaries of the projects said developing  an exit strategy is a very crucial aspect for its success.
Wogu said it is a social safety net of the Federal Government which aims to equip unskilled and unemployed women and youths with necessary skills for improved livelihood.
Representatives of MTN presented the product to be offered by the company as exit plan for the beneficiaries of the CSWYE programmes at the meeting.
Represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Mr. Clement Illo, Wogu explained to the state coordinators that the cycle for the project is incomplete without the beneficiaries exiting into pre-planned means of sustained economic self-reliance after a specific period of participating in the project.
Speaking on the MTN partnership, Wogu said, “I am sure you have understood the seriousness of the business before us today and the need for us to listen attentively to the presentation by MTN on the product they are offering as exit plan for our beneficiaries.
“I therefore urge you to assess the product with analytical mind to determine its acceptability, workability, efficiency and effectiveness as we strive to better the lots of our people.
“This should stimulate our minds towards engaging other private sector operators in similar proposal while we strive to achieve the target of timely and successful exit of all the 119,170 beneficiaries currently on the project nationwide before January next year.”
