The Gombe State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has opened a new secretariat in Gombe ahead of the coming congresses and other party activities.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the opening, an elder of the party in the state, Mr John David, said they opened the office with the backing of the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the party, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman.

“The purpose of this gathering is to unveil this office. We know that before now there was no office in Gombe State. But now, we are ready for this journey to support our national chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, who was given the caretaker to transact the processes of LP before the forthcoming convention,” he said.

Mr David called on members of the party in the state to remain united, in order to square up with the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the Middle Belt Stakeholders; Professor Silas Lamela, said the party’s office will advance the course of the LP across the 11 local government areas of the state.

“We have found it necessary to have a forum to build the course of the Middle Belt in the Labour Party,” he said.
