The Country Manager, ACCA Nigeria, Toyin Ademola at a breakfast meeting with journalists in Lagos said the body’s resolution to assist its Nigeria registered student members in addressing employment issue informed its decision to launch carrier portal in the country.
According to her, with ACCA’s carrier portal, employer members can load listings on the vacancies they have and ACCA qualified students can also look for organisations vacancies and see if they can fill it.
“I think the high unemployment rate in Nigeria is caused by a number of factors, the infrastructure, lack of professional skill, a lot Nigerian graduates graduate without a professional skill and there is need for professionalism even at global scale where organisations have feeling that this person has the technical skill required to be able to carry out this job,” she said.
