The people of Sansani village in Rano local government have called on the Kano state government to come to their aid through provision of social amenities to the area.

One of the community members, Malam Ibrahim Abdul, said children of school age in the area had to walk long distance to get to the nearest primary and secondary schools for their studies.

Abdul said the community was also facing difficulties in accessing basic healthcare services as there was no clinic in the area.

“Our children have to walk 5-10 kilometres to get access to school and also have to cover similar distance to get to the nearest healthcare facility. We are in need of government’s intervention to get us out of this condition,” he lamented.

Another resident, Malam Salisu Sa’ud, said his children had stopped going to the school because they could not cover such a distance on daily basis and he could not afford any means of transportation for them.

A house wife in the village, Malama Fatima Sa’id said pregnant women in the village only get ante-natal services at Rano healthcare facility, also a very long distance from the area.

Councillor representing the area at the Rano local council, Malam Ya’u Abdullahi said he had not received such complain from anybody in the village.

“I only received similar complain from Kwanrange village which I have already forwarded to the local council,” he said.
