Mr Femi Sanusi, the head of Africlearn, an educational content providing platform for Sherborne Consults Ltd has said lack of technology-based content poses a challenge to learning in Nigeria.

Sanusi, who spoke during the unveiling of the platform in Lagos recently, said “The problem we have in Nigeria from a technology solution perspective is that there is no content available.

He said their “platform has been designed to be the go-to platform for educational resources and technology assisted-learning for students, parents, tutors and teachers alike,” he noted.

Sanusi said Africlearn will address the inadequacy of curriculum aligned contents for students and teachers in secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria. 

The platform was initiated in August 2017 as a cloud-based education solution that provides personalized learning among its users. It has been designed to bridge the content gap and enhance teaching and learning, the firm said.

Sanusi said the web and mobile-based platform enables users to have access to a wide library of textbooks, videos and study materials that cut across various subjects taught in secondary and tertiary schools.

The platform also enables students to access assessment questions online and offline, a project that took six years to research on and developed to bridge the curriculum gap which has been the bane of education.

“Africlearn is the first solution that is bringing in contents that are aligned to curricula, that are flexible enough, not just for students, but teachers and school framework.

“The solution allows not just students and teachers to be able to effectively transform the way they learn, it also allows governments to know where they need to impact on or add additional value to the education agenda,” he explained.
