The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Alagbado Central Branch, Lagos has awarded N100,000 as start-up to a lady, Mrs Ojedele Balikis for presenting the best business proposal at its maiden business summit. 

The MSSN President, Ustaz Ibrahim Fadipe said the summit with the theme “Business Resilience” was initiated to encourage Muslim youths to develop business idea and to curb poverty in the society. 

“We believe youth organizations should now focus on solving societal problems and at MSSN Alagbado, we want to set the pace for others. We started with a skills acquisition programme in October where we trained 20 people on different skills and as a follow-up program, we set up this program to educate, motivate and support our members to grow their business.”

Mr. Abdul Wasii Olufemi, a management professional, said: “Our businesses must be resilient and agile enough to adapt to change quickly and they must leverage on technology and innovation in service delivery because business is no longer the same.”

He explained the need for every business owner to always grow digital and online, adding that using technology will make businesses grow well. 

A chartered accountant and business coach, Mr. Shefiu Olabanjo, appealed to all business owners to always work in a team in order to have a suitable sustainable business. 

The Amir of MSSN Ojokoro Area Council, Mallam Mutohir Arogundade lauded the efforts of the MSSN Alagbado executives for organising the summit. He encouraged the participants to be creative and productive.
