Lafarge Africa Plc has awarded multi-million naira bursaries to 3,855 students of higher institutions in its host communities in Ogun State.
In a statement by the company, a breakdown shows that in Ewekoro community, 204 students received N20.4m in 2015; N20.4m was spent on 204 students in 2016; N20.4m was dispensed to 204 students in 2017; N20.4m doled out in 2018, and in 2019, N20.4m was spent on 204 students.
Between 2015 and 2019 in Sagamu, 100 students received N5m each year.
Tajudeen Akintokun, a resident of Ewekoro, said, “We can’t thank Lafarge enough.’’
Titilope Oguntuga, Head, Sustainable Development and Brand Communication at Lafarge, said, “This is fueled by our commitment as an organisation to building the capacity of the people, particularly students.”
