Laffta Fest ends tomorrow

The last edition of the Glo Lafta Fest will end tomorrow as fans will be thrilled by the likes of Bovi, De-Don, Funny Bone, Senator, 2CanTalk and Arinze Baba, in the Benue State capital, Makurdi.
Last Sunday, the commercial capital of Abia State, Aba, was agog with performances by comedy acts as they were also rewarded with gifts.
It was not a day for business as residents turned out en masse to enjoy the show which paraded popular comedians, including Burna Boy and MI, provided musical interludes.
The event attracted commercial bus drivers, traders and ‘Keke NAPEP’ operators who formed a long convoy to welcome the Glo entertainment team to the venue.
To underscore the excitement of the residents, those who were not on the Glo network quickly switched to it when informed of the terms for admission into the event venue. Those who did not have Glo SIMs bought them and the required airtime needed to be admitted.
Adaeze Odumkwe, who was one of such people, said she heard of the show two weeks earlier. “The news was everywhere. I couldn’t afford to miss it, that’s why I had to purchase a Glo SIM and recharge cards immediately,” she said.
Another resident, Kenneth Idika, a banker, heard about the Laffta Fest comedy show three weeks before the event. He said when he realised he could not attend it since he was not a Glo subscriber he had to go to a Gloworld shop to subscribe to the network.
“My friend told me about the event when they went to Awka, and he has not stopped talking about it. I saw the road show here in Aba, but because I didn’t have a line and needed to attend, I had to visit the Gloworld shop to purchase a Glo SIM and register it. With that, I was able to attend the show and I can now also enjoy other benefits on the network,” he stated.
