The renovated Central Mosque in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa state is to be commissioned today.
The state Governor, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Almakura made the disclosure when he was received by a senior member of the Lafia Emirate, the Madaki of Lafia Alhaji Ishaku Dauda on an inspection tour on the level of construction work before the commissioning ceremony.
The mosque was renovated to cater for more worshippers and it was decorated and fitted with modern facilities.
Almakura said, “The presentation of Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, new Emir of Lafia and 17th on the throne, Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, and the opening of the Lafia Central Mosque would both take place Friday 3rd May, 2019.”
The Governor and his entourage inspected the Lafia Emirs Palace and the Lafia Central Mosque towards ensuring a successful presentation of Staff of Office to the Emir and first Juma’at prayer at the Central Mosque.
