Lafia: #EndSARS: Panel commences sitting in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into activities of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has received sixteen petitions.

The eight-member panel commenced sitting in Lafia at the State Ministry of Justice. This followed nationwide protests against police brutality.

Chairman of the Commission, Justice Badamasi Maina (Rtd), said the petitions would be handled within the stipulated six months.

He said that hearing would be conducted on a later date.

The panel was inaugurated by Governor Abdullahi Sule on October 20.
