Lagbus crashes into BRT bus on segregated lane

Dozens of passengers commuting in a red-colour Lagbus and a blue-colour Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus, sustained varying degrees of injury when the two long buses were involved in an accident on the segregated BRT lane at the Ojota end of the Ikorodu road, Lagos, last week.
The accident occurred when the BRT bus was about to leave the segregated lane to link the highway. Eyewitnesses said the Lagbus driver who was on top speed applied the break suddenly. Alas, it was too late as the Lagbus crashed into the BRT bus.
The Lagbus marked FKJ17XR and the BRT bus marked EKY80XR were both damaged in the accident. The injured passengers in both buses were quickly helped by other passengers to disembark from the buses and to apply first aid on them.
The accident on the busy road caused a huge traffic gridlock which was later controlled by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).
