Lagos agric commissioner emerges Oba-elect of Iruland

The Lagos State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the nomination and appointment of the Commissioner for Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal as the new Oba-elect of Iruland, the Oniru-elect of Iruland.

The Lagos State Executive Council has approved the nomination and appointment of the Commissioner for Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal as the new Oba-elect of Iruland, the Oniru-elect of Iruland.

Final ratification on Lawal’s nomination, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, was made during the State’s Executive Council meeting.

Lawal succeeds the late Oba Idowu Abiodun, former Oniru of Iruland, who passed on in 2019 at the age of 82.

Lawal was born on July 24, 1970 to late Chief T. A. Lawal- Akapo, the Ojora of Lagos (1977-1993) and Olori M. A. Lawal-Akapo.

He is a Lagos Prince from the Ojora, Aromire, Shokun and Abisogun branch of Oniru Royal families of Lagos State.
