Contestants for the House of Assembly primary election in Surulere Constituency 1 of Lagos State have been cautioned against violence and disruption in today’s All Progressives Congress (APC) primary.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Surulere Constituency I remains one of the flash point constituencies in Wednesday’s APC primaries.
In the constituency, a female party-backed aspirant, Odunuga-Bakare will be battling for the APC ticket with a third-term incumbent lawmaker, Desmond Elliott, who is seeking a fourth-term at the State Assembly.
Chairman of Surulere Accountability Front, Olanrewaju Badmus, who gave the warning in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, alleged that some politicians were plotting to create chaos and intimidatation during the election.
Badmus urged party members to remain calm, vigilant and peaceful throughout the exercise across the six wards in the constituency.
He appealed to eligible voters to mobilise massively and participate peacefully in the primary election and urged party members to cooperate with security agencies and party officials to ensure a credible and orderly process.
