Chairman, House Committee on Health Services,  Suru Avoseh disclosed this at the 3rd Annual General Meeting of the State Medicine Dealers Association stating that hawking of drugs on Lagos roads and inner streets is henseforth prohibited in the state.
Addressing members of the association, Avoseh said the state government through the Ministry of Health will work with them to arrest anyone that flout the law.
The lawmaker stressed;“Drug hawking in whatever disguise is prohibited in Lagos. Anyone found displaying drugs for sale or advertising drugs in whichever manner would be arrested and prosecuted”.
He said the state House of Assembly will not fold its arms and watch while some people flagrantly disobey the law adding that the house will also not allow the association to operate illegally.
 He urged members of the association to operate within the law that established them.
Earlier, the president of the association Mr. Fidelis-Omeyi Nwokeocha said the association will not only respect but abide by the laws of the state.
He asked the state government to intensify efforts in curbing distribution and marketing of fake drugs across the state noting that existence of fake drugs and unhindered distribution channels has enable those who engaged in selling fake drugs to last long in their illicit trade.
